Nice little airport, so far not swamped by tourists. However...apparently the UK has demended that fluids are confiscated, hand luggage tested for explosives before boarding and the best bit, lighters are confiscated. However you are told you can buy one in the duty free which Is not true but a smoking area is kindly provided!! Confiscations were spotty so thankfully we had lighters to hand but the logic??? Beats me.HQTHO

Hong Kong International Airport

One of busines international airport in Asia Pacific which has seen better days in its level of service quality and effectiveness! I am a frequent traveller within Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong which has witness graduall deterioration on its service quality and effectiveness of its planning management. Perhaps it was the contribution of incrrease passensger flow from its parent country but seems approach to all matter are "Passive" and "Systematically Robotic"... losing its human touch which is critical in service....hope it does shake up or likely be replace by nearby competition from China!

New York John F. Kennedy International Airport

19 September 2015 Senior Pennsylvania
Avoid JFK Airport Arriving international passengers with connecting flights will require 3 hours to safely make connection. Passport inspection required 45 minutes wait. TSA security was a 1 hour wait. Confusing information about departure terminal. One agent said terminal 2, while another said terminal 4. Terminal 4 was correct for us. Easy to see why TSA should be privatized. 1 inspection line open with over 100 people waiting and no TSA concern that people were missing their flights because of this lack of efficiency.

Guayaquil Jose Joaquin de Olmedo International Airport

07 September 2015 elizabeth d
I had the pleasure to go to Guayaquil and visit my family, and I must say that the airport is extremely clean and nice stores too, where you can buy typical souvenirs, chocolates drinks etc. That is in the area for departure, however in the area of arrival, the day that I arrived there were two flights that arrived at the same time, however the immigration officers were only 5 working despite there were 13 cabins in total, which delayed a lot the exit of the passengers, my arrival was at 5:30 pm and I did not leave the airport until 7:00 pm, I believe they should be more people working when there are more than one flight, just a comment on that for better customer service.

Mykonos Island National Airport

07 September 2015 Rudi
Avoid this airport if you can. When arriving at Mykonos airport the 1st August, and a Saturday, in the peak of the holiday season, 3 flights were leaving at the same time and only 2 check-in desks were open. It took 2.5 hours to check in one luggage. No effort has been made to speed up the process. There was not a single information screen or announcement to tell about delays and no staff was visible. The checked-in bags security is made manually by the passenger and you need to go through the other queues. It's very messy and disorganized. The departure lounge is small and very crowded. Boarding was painfully slow, more than 45 minutes to board an Airbus 320. Our flight was delayed 2 hours simply to allow private jets to land and our plane was not supplied with water. The service provided by the airport is unacceptable. Mykonos has been a popular destination for decades but their airport is below any acceptable standards.

Seoul Incheon International Airport

24 August 2015 DW
Yes, it used to be one of the best airports in the world. Unfortunately it has taken a MAJOR hit recently as it simply cannot cope with the increased number of passengers. The short line ups for immigration/security that used to be a feature of Incheon are gone!!! Now are horrendous long line ups and a surprising level of disorganisation in their immigration system. When there's line up's taking 45 minutes....why are not all the immigration lanes staffed??? Ok they blame the influx of Chinese visitors in recent years but this is a poor excuse - the airport has to manage it. One additional point - there are no security/immigration lanes for business/first class passengers. Strange! Very sad to see an airport which I have complimented before becoming so bad. It is VERY VERY frustrating to travel in this airport now. Management - please note and do something about it, it's in your power!!!

Cheboksary Airport

09 August 2015 "Lidiya Ivanovna"
I used Cheboksary aeroport twice and i have a quite negative experience. The first time the handle of my rolling suitcase got broken during transportation of the luggage and I never received any refund after submitting a declaration about it. The suitcase was ruined as i could not roll it. And nobody ever contacted me. The second time happened on 2 august 2015, Utair airlines, flight 7.30am from Cheboksary to Moscow. I checked in my luggage I asked to put a label of fragility on my suitcase and the suitcase of my boyfriend. We had some glass in our luggage. They sticked something on only my suitcase and said to bring both suitcases to the Customs to check luggage in and that they would arrange fragile part of our suitcases. Apperantly you have to do it yourself which is fine. My family was waiting for us back to say bye and spent an 1 hour before the boarding outside as we were too early. We went to the Customs hall (5 meters away from the check in area) and gave our suitcases saying that they should transport it as fragile luggage and put relevant labels on both suitcases. Does it seem to be a simple request? Looks like that. But no. The answer of one woman was "what does it matter? Nobody will look if your luggage is fragile". I kindly said that it matters to me and I would like both suitcase to be transported as fragile. The answer of the same woman was "do it yourself but you have to go through Customs first and we won't let you out".. (because I already mentioned to them before that we only want to drop suitcases and go back to my waiting family). That was absurd! Simple request to transport your luggage as fragile turns into begging. You are standing there looking at these 3 lazy people who dont want to do their jobs and treat customers like this! Of course I told them that i have to go back to checkin area to see my family and cannot go through customs to put labels that they would give me on my suitcases. The answer from "that woman" was that either i put that fragile label myself either they dont move a finger. I got really annoyed and asked them to give my suitcases back, so i can go back to the checkin desk and arrange myself. The answer was NO. I tried to ask for the name of "that woman" but her nice colleagues didn't give her away. I heard somebody called her "Lidiya Ivanovna". If you know this unhappy woman working in Customs area of the Cheboksary aeroport, please help her to find the other job! This is really not a nice experience when people do not do their job well and irritate customers. Kind regards, Crappy treated customer on August 2, 2015.

Munich Airport

02 August 2015 Chris A
Can't believe that an airport can be so horrible . Arrived at Munich airport to grab a connecting flight, The line for immigration was long and VERY SLOW , the immigration officers were more interested in talking to each other than doing their jobs. Finally it's our turn, and after telling them that we we to catch our flight within 20 minutes this seamed to slow them down. After proceeding from immigration,I was singled out for a spot check ( presumable because I spoke out about the lax way the officers were doing their job) this took a couple of minutes. We ran to our lounge which was a fair way from the immigration entry point ,only to be told that the gangway was closed and we had missed our flight. We went to the Lufthansa desk and explained the situation and were put on the next flight to our destination . No fault of ours and no extra charges to be put on another flight. This put all our plans back, hotels, cars, etc. in this age one would not expect such useless service from an airport and it's staff. Overall not a good impression given by this place

Noumea La Tontouta International Airport

16 July 2015 Guest from Sydney
The airport was modern, clean and very organised. We arrived in the morning from Noumea for our international flight and Staff were friendly and service was quick. No fuss about a bit of excess carry-on luggage, and everything run smoothly. We had a very decent breakfast in a spacious section of the airport. The queue to the departure gates and customs was a bit long and there was a happy crowd near the ice cream and craft shops.

Airport security extremely unhelpful. My daughter laptop and money was stolen. When she asked security for assistance as they were there, they pretended not to know English. And yet I know they spoke English as I have heard them several times. I will not be using that hub again.

Dublin Airport

26 June 2015 Guest
came home from Scotland recently and thought the plane had made a navigational error. The passport control in Terminal 1 reminded me of Istanbul. Spent 20 minutes in appalling conditions before a civilian controller examined my passport and seemed to be counting the hairs on my head, this after barking at me to move back from wife. As an Irish citizen travelling within the common travel area I should not have been subject to passport control and certainly not the "gestapo" scrutiny applied. It was not personal as eveeryone was getting the same treatment, hence the delay. So if you are looking for Ireland of the welcomes dont go near Dublin Airport.

Manchester Airport

Will never again travel through Manchester. No signs for car rentals at term 2. Arrived at 6.30am after overnight flight from US-no signage for car rentals - Only coffee shop open and no-one was any help with directions-had to walk for 10 mins outside in the cold to find the bus to car rental village!!. On leaving, car rental did not give any maps or directions. Returning was even worse-no signposts-no help-Budget car rental does not offer shuttle to hotel-had to wait for shuttle to airport and then pay for taxi to hotel. This airport does nothing to encourage travellers. On departure were herded like cattle through the duty free area before we could reach our gate. Overall a dreadful experience.

Departure is a nightmare, queueing up for ages. Priority should be given to those whose flights are leaving first, but instead everyone's together getting grumpier by the minute. Terminal is very noisy and the toilets were disgusting.

Port Au Prince Toussaint Louverture International Airport

20 November 2014 Yves M. Coupetuest
It is a pleasure when arriving and departing from the newly renovated Toussaint Louverture International Airport. The building is more inviting, the staff friendlier, collecting your luggage is no longer a nightmare. The government has done an excellent job renovating and managing the facility. There is more to be done especially after leaving the building, the staff hired to help passengers are way too aggressive. I witnessed passengers being harassed and intimidated by these staff. The newly created Politour should be more visible and also make sure that the people awaiting the arrival of their relatives, friends etc is not blocking the walkway making it easier for the passengers to exit . Congratulations and keep-up the good work.

The worst airport it has ever been my mis pleasure to visit. We arrived two hours before flying and spent one and a half hours queuing to check in and pass through security - there were no orderly systems in place and the staff clearly didn't care about the comfort of passengers. The airport facilities are pathetic and it clearly cannot cope with the number of passengers passing through and needs a thorough expansion programme. We will never visit Crete again after this awful experience!

Kansas City International Airport

Kansas City international, once a thriving hub for TWA, is a shambles now. The airport claims to be undertaking renovations, remodels & repairs, but in 2 visits 12 months apart I saw absolutely zero improvements. The gate area (52) us the WORST passenger gate area I have EVER seen. There is ZERO pax amenities beyond security, no RESTROOMS, no food, not even a water fountain. You are a prisoner until you are allowed to board. Pray your flight isn't late. The gate spaces a terribly cramped considering the vast amount of unused space. In my opinion this is the end result of allowing a failing municipal government takes over an important public facility and runs it into the ground. Do not connect in KC if you can avoid it. Pressure city leaders to fix their mess NOW

Aruba Reina Beatrix Airport

11 August 2014 Guest
Much improved over the old terminal. Check the Customs line before you hang out too long in the duty free area. An hour to get through the line isn't unheard of. Once in the gate area, there are few food options and they are all basic. Still that seems to get better each year. There are plenty of car rental options at the airport and cabs are plentiful. Baggage return is pretty slow. If you have preferred status, do know the priority tab on your luggage tag apparently means nothing to the baggage handlers. Your on vacation, don't sweat it. If you have an unlocked cell phone, you can get a SIM card at a booth in the outer lobby for $20. This will give you something like 50 minutes of calling to the US, unlimited incoming calls and unlimited local calls on the island. There is a duty free shop in the baggage claim area with good prices so you can make good use of your time waiting for luggage. Good prices but only 1liter per person. Aruba is awesome!

Pittsburgh International Airport

03 August 2014 jr
Overall, PIT is a good airport. Given that it was built for much higher traffic, everything is far under capacity. However, the Delta flight from Paris continues to be very inconvenient and the process of arrival is designed in a very stupid manner; after our first time on this flight, we decided not to do it again but we broke down because there was a rare deal on this route. One would think that PIT's only flight to Europe would be outstanding. It is excellent to CDG. Upon return, one goes through customs and immigration as expected but then stupidity gets inserted into the process. The idiotic design flaw is that one must recheck bags and go through security in order to LEAVE THE AIRPORT. This is standard procedure for connecting flights but not if your final destination is PIT. I have traveled numerous airports on three continents regularly and never seen anything as stupid as this process. Third world countries do better. Imagine you purchased some duty free booze in CDG Paris. You cannot bring them through security and they need to be placed into your baggage. Our first time on this flight, we were not told to put the liquor into our bags. Several people forfeited very expensive wine because they already checked their bags. They do a better job of warning passengers now. Additionally, Delta seems to have some problems with baggage. We rechecked three bags after clearing customs for pickup at the baggage claim so we could leave the airport. One bag arrived fairly promptly, about 20 minutes after checking it. The other two bags showed up more than 45 minutes after the first. All were deposited on the conveyer belt at the same time. They only had to move the bags from the gate to the "landside terminal". Delta told me that they have three flights arriving very close together and there are only so many baggage handlers. These three flights all came in on schedule. They knew the planes and passengers would arrive - no mystery regarding the required tasks. The international arrival area was designed when security was far more lax than it is now however there are solutions. Why not run buses? European & Asian airports are always loading passengers into buses. Why not move the international gate to the "land side terminal"? It is simply not worth the trouble to get a direct flight. We intend on driving to another airport to do international flights or simply connecting. PIT management and facilities are not competent to handle international flights.

Miami International Airport

If you're looking for a small, quiet, and unstressful airport, this may not be the place for you. However, it's quite lively and filled with some of the most interesting people in the world. Miami travelers often have people going to South America. Something to do before leaving for your trip is to visit the Entrusters site and you can earn extra money while traveling. Entrusters is the new way of budget travel and meeting new friends or locals.

Copenhagen Kastrup Airport

I have finished Baltic cruises on June 25, 2014, this airport is the worst airport in Northern Europe, it has no clear sign for boarding and small little sign for luggage claim, it is over commercialize and feel like to walk in to a shopping mall- no waiting area and no chair. and worst no chair and passengers have to sit on the floor, if you want to spend high price drink of junk food than you can buy it from vendor and gain a seat to sit. we have to search and go to some remote alleyway to claim my luggage. the male custom agent is ass that we bought tax free perfume from Princess cruises and was in my wife's handbag, he order to empty the hangbag and confiscated two expensive perfumes bottles-because ovre 100 ml and it is liguid, you think the expensive perfume will sale a big bottle? can he read or smell and including my male cologne was taken, this poor stinked agent must need the deordant and a gift for boy friend and he can have it without pay for. we are flight SAS -SK909 from Copenhagen to NJ, after check in that we send to C20 gate are to wait for entrance to boarding area- we wait from 10AM till 11:45 AM at small waiting area of 20' x40'-only 3 chairs, most of people have to sit on floor for 1 1/2 hour before let us through to boarding, and no staff care of some eldery passengers concern. please stay away from this fancy name airport- it is disgust and out dated hole, still stay frozen in viking stone age, save aggravation through this worst airport!

Very bad experience. Had done electronic check-in. When my family and I passed fr om the desk no paper copies of the boarding passes were give (although I asked for them). We were stopped at the hand-baggage control wh ere we were treated with arrogance and humiliation (even my 3-year old son). I have a hip-replacement and I was asked several times (by the same person) to show them again and again my electronic boarding pass. Things became much worse when we tried to communicate in English. Nobody bothered to say a word in English althought they perfectly well understood the language! To all this I add the complete chaos in the waiting lines (people jumping across lines, no control at all... Awful experience (not for the first time in this airport...).

Newquay Cornwall Airport

30 March 2014 Guest
Newquay airport is good for flights other than the Skybus to the Isles of Scilly, for which it is poor. We have used both St Just and Newquay and the contrast is stark. The staff at St Just are welcoming, friendly and keep customers fully informed about delays etc. In our experience, the staff at Newquay are unwelcoming and do not communicate with Skybus passengers. Last week we all had to rely on other passengers to be told what was going on. Our luggage was checked in but not taken so we sat with it in front of the staff ( there are only a small number of passengers and a 15kg baggage allowance) for nearly 5 hours as the flight was delayed. Nevertheless , when the first and only flight was ready to board, all of us had to have our baggage re- weighed and re- ticketed - very slowly, having been told to hurry as the pilot was anxious to leave. Then passengers have to run the gamut of airport security. We travel frequently all over the world and the security and officiousness at Newquay for the IoS domestic flight is greater than in almost all international airports that we have visited. On reflection, it is the extremely officious attitude of the staff ( we counted 5 dealing with 15 passengers who do not have cabin baggage) that makes the experience unpleasant rather than reassuring. Again, no staff were in departures to give us information after the safety video and when they did arrive, angered passengers by their lack of communication. Last year we attributed problems to teething difficulties as flights to IoS from Newquay were increased due to the demise of the helicopter service. However, things have not improved so we will use St Just. Sadly, Skybus has a total monopoly on travel to IoS so there is no commercial imperative for them to bring pressure on Newquay airport to improve.

This airport is modern and mostly a good airport. However WIFI is hit and miss plus they have no pay-to-use internet booths which was annoying. We flew out of Lisbon and had to pass border control on non EU passport. The line was ridiculously long and resulted in us missing our flight so suggest getting their early to avoid such problems

Portland International Airport

Portland Int'l is by far one of the most pleasant of "smaller" major airports. Even though it's not a major hub to any one airline, there is considerable service by Delta, United, Alaska, and southeast. You can fly to almost any major airport in the country non stop from Portland. The Terminal is relatively small, very easy to navigate, yet offers a wide variety of food and shopping choices, both inside and outside of security. Best of all, there is no tax, and the airport forbids unfair marking up of goods bought inside the airport. That is, if you buy a bottle of wine or a book, you'll pay the same price as you would anywhere else. Wall to wall carpeting and plenty of windows make it a cheerful and soothing environment. If your travels take you through Portland, you should enjoy yourself!

In transit fr om Australia to Kiribati - not having officially entered Nauru, I had 2 bottles of wine purchased in duty free in Australia confiscated because they exceeded the 100ml lim it on liquids. Any discussion with security was fraught - I conceded I would have to leave the wine at security which was interpreted as implying I was leaving it for him personally and at this juncture he pointed out he could arrest me. It was an entirely unsatisfactory experience (personally and for the loss of $60 worth of wine) at 6am which I shall avoid by not traveling through Nauru in future. Yes - I could have left it on the plane, but was told to take all items with me.

You should mark your drop baggage desks according to destination. Had to get in a queue twice in very hot conditions and we are pensioners but were told too bad we would have to queue again. The staff said they have told the management to put messages on the screens but nothing changes. I think this is a disgusting way to treat passengers that pass through your terminal.
