Lilongwe airport has been the worst experience. I had to pay for my luggage and was not given a reciept that I expressed was critical for me to have given I was on business travel. They said my reciept would be given at the gate and I was pushed aside multiple times. Going through the final international security at my gate I was not given an explanation for the search and it’s requirements. Nor was I asked if I wanted to be privately screened. The staff did a full body search in the open and went through my personal belongings in view of everyone in the area. Furthermore this lady stole money that fell out of my pocket and claimed it was her own. Given the language barrier it was extremely difficult to argue. My request for managers went unanswered. The guy at the passport counter spent our entire exchange on the phone with someone and I stood there afterward bc he didn’t even let me know I was done and could move on. At no counter was I given instructions of what they needed from me. They just stared at me until I asked what the * they were looking at. I am currently trying to find customer service numbers to speak to airport or airline representatives. Something needs to change.
